Langkawi Trip Part IV : Langkawi Crocodile Farm

Continued from Langkawi Trip Part III : Oriental Village
About 10-15 minutes drive away from Oriental Village we reached the Crocodile Farm, located on a small hill. We were greeted by this big Welcome signboard, with a big crocodile replica on top. The 20-acre Langkawi Crocodile Farm is the largest crocodile farm in Malaysia and houses more than 1000 crocodiles, with most of it the “Crocodylus Porosus” species. Entrance fee is RM10 per adult and an extra RM1 for each camera brought in. The place looks deserted, not many tourists were visiting at that time.
We were lucky because as soon as we arrived, a crocodile show was just about to begin. FYI, there are two crocodile show sessions in a day at 11.15am and 2.45pm. The crocodile show took place in an area close to the size of a basketball court with two small pools. There were 3 crocodiles in the water with their sizes from small to freaking huge!
The first crocodile to get on the show was lifted up by this guy to show us its belly. Notice its mouth was tied up with a rope before being lifted up. Along the show, a MC provided us with some information about the crocodiles. According to him, the crocodile’s belly is the most expensive part of all in making crocodile skin products. The crocodile quickly ran away once released, I guess it must be embarrassed to have its “everything” seen by so many people lol.
The show proceeded with a bigger crocodile, with its size was as big as an adult man. This time the crocodile had its teeth brushed by one of the performers. I wonder if they really brush all the crocodiles’ teeth as told by the MC because they really look clean and white.
Next was the climax of the show. It was the time we had all anticipated for, the biggest crocodile called Bujang Lang. Bujang Lang is one of the largest crocodile in the farm, with its length at 3 metres and weighing at 1 tonne! It can grow so big because “Crocodylus Porosus” is the largest crocodile species in the world, and the most aggrssive too. All 3 performers took turn to show off their skills by doing various life-risking stunts like sitting/lying on it and even placing the entire hand in its mouth! They are no Brady Barr or Steve Irwin, but I really salute them for the bravery 
The crocodile show ended approximately 30-45 minutes later and it was time for another show : crocodile feeding. The show took part in a large pond. For the entire show we stood on a bridge built over the pond, with hundreds of crocodiles lurking beneath us. A whole chicken is thrown into the air for the lucky ones to fetch it.
Also in the crocodile farm is exhibition of crocodiles in their different ages. The baby crocodiles looked cute lol.
This is Bujang Kawi, the brother of Bujang Lang. Bujang Kawi is born without teeth and a distorted jaw. I think the people at Langkawi Crocodile Farm must have taken good care of it. Look at its size it’s as big as his brother!
This is a trisaw manned by a crocodile lol. There are a couple more of similar figurines like the boxing crocodile (it really wears boxing glove!)
Do pay Langkawi Crocodile Farm a visit. It opened up our eyes to some really huge mean crocodiles Actually I have more photos and some videos to post, but they will come later
