Hsin Guang Dong Restaurant @ Pacific Megamall Pinang
Nov 9th
Hsin Guang Dong Xiao Chu Restaurant is located beside Pacific’s ground floor parking. It is one of the many restaurants along the row of shops, with 2 serving Vietnamese food. I dined here twice when I was completing my industrial training in the Perai’s Industrial Zone. That was 3 years ago.. Anyway expect to see lots of wantan in this post lol.
At Hsin Guang Dong Xiao Chu, you can expect to find roasted meat rice or noodles and a wide selection of Chinese dishes, even sharksfin soup! Shown here was supposed to be our dessert – Wintermelon Sago, but it was the first to come lol. It costs RM2.00, and I felt that it was a bit watery. Definitely better if more sago and wintermelon bits were given.
Prawn wantan soup @ RM3.50 – contains 6 medium sized wantan. The wantan tasted very sweet, so nice. We have tried making our own wantan but they won’t turn out so tasty.. I wonder if they put a lot of MSG in it
Original Hong Kong style Wantan Noodles @ RM3.50.
Stewed Beef Noodles @ RM5.50. This is a bit pricey but I like the beef a lot, especially the springy beef stomach  I can’t help but notice that this restaurant’s condition has deteriorated much within 3 years. I do hope they put more effort in maintaining the restaurant to attract even more customers (not that its business is bad, it was full house when I went!)
Dim Sum @ Mei Siang Way Restaurant
Nov 5th
Mei Siang Way is another
The dim sum sold here is pretty standard.. nothing special that’s worth mentioning. So.. that’s all about it, the end of this short post lol. These are some close up shots of the dim sum we had that day, enjoy!
Crab Meat Char Koay Teow
Nov 3rd
[tag]Bukit Mertajam[/tag] is a town that sleeps early. It is quite difficult to find food (un-mamak style) after 10pm except in the town area and Bukit Tengah. This post will bring us to a hawker centre joint by three restaurants opposite [tag]Ping Min primary school[/tag] in [tag]Bukit Tengah[/tag]. Food stalls are many but the only problem here is to find a decent parking.
Double Taste is the restaurant being featured.
A Crab Meat [tag]Char Koay Teow[/tag] stall operates beside the restaurant. Selling @ RM3.00 per plate, it has 3 large prawns and some crab floss dressed on top of the koay teow. The koay teow itself was quite good but I hardly felt eating any crab at all lol. Well, what to expect? For a crab already costs RM2 in the market.
Home cooked Hokkien Mee
Nov 2nd
Once in a while, my father will cook Hokkien Mee (or known as Prawn Mee in KL) for breakfast and lunch. We will then cook our noodles and pick the ingredients ourselves. It’s nice because we can be as generous as we wish with the prawns and pork ribs lol. The soup is sooo thick with prawn taste and sooo sweet  There’s simply no where on earth you can find a pure bowl of Hokkien Mee like this, less it’s cooked yourself ![]()
