Hawker Food @ Sungai Nibong
Ahh.. finally an update lol. This time I will post up the food we had for dinner after the team building event in Gua Tempurung, Perak. The place we went to is located in Sungai Nibong, along the way to USM/N-Park. If you are coming from Butterworth, take head to the big roundabout near Krystal Point and take the 1 o’clock exit. Continue about 150m down the road and you will see a Shell on your left. The foodcourt is just behind the petrol station.
I used to come here a few years ago when my sister was still studying in USM. We would have our dinner here every Sunday night before dropping off my sister in the campus. The variety of food to choose from is vast, ranging from at least 15-20 stalls. The foodcourt usually starts to get crowded after 6pm, with most of the customers USM students and Bayan Lepas workers.
My choice that night, Char Koay Kak. It tasted a bit bland and didn’t have much ingredients. I can recommend a nice stall in Taman Sri Rambai’s night hawker fare that sells really good Char Koay Kak, with prawns. Since I have had better.. Rating: OK.
How can a plate of Char Koay Kak alone satisfy me?
So I ordered satay for everyone. Rating: OK.
Siang Leng had Hokkien Char, which is also known as Fuk Kin Mien in Kuala Lumpur. Our Fuk Kin Mien here referes to their Prawn Mee though lol. Rating: Good.
The Claypot Chicken Rice. If the rice was cooked more evenly (a lot of white rice were seen) and had Chinese sausages, it’d definitely be nicer. Rating: OK.
Laksa. According to my friend, it’s nice. I didn’t taste it but I believe him la. Rating: Good.
Jiu Hu Eng Cai is a dish of sliced cuttlefish and kangkung topped with rojak sauce and peanuts. It has been ages since I had this, liked it a lot. Rating: Good.
Loh Bak, which is a variety of fried pork rolls, sausages and century eggs to be eaten with special gluey sauce as well as chilli sauce. Rating: Good.
There are more food we had. But because everyone was hungry, I didn’t want to kacau them by taking photos of their food lol. Also recommened are pancake, curry mee and Sabah pan mee.

Sometimes when I think our purchasing power it’s kinda sad. Just take our neighbor Singapore for example. What can you buy with RM3 nowadays? I doubt you can even purchase a plate of chicken rice with that amount in KL. Even if there is, only breast meat would be given at the most minimum.
But in [...]

Sea Ocean Restaurant is a Chinese-Thai restaurant in Permatang Tinggi discovered by my sister when she attended a friend’s wedding dinner held there. Ooook, so when it comes to the best Char Koay Teow in Penang I am sure Ah Leng Char Koay Teow at Jalan Dato Keramat is one of them. Just consider the size of the prawns being used alone, they are so huge it would be shocking for first time eaters. The distinctive sweet prawn [...]

Apam Balik has got to be one of the simplest and most traditional snack you could find in Malaysia that is great for anytime may it be breakfast, tea break or supper. As far as Japanese restaurants go, Kampachi of Hotel Equatorial located at Bukit Jambul was and still remains as one of the top ones in Penang. Kampachi’s reputation is so strong that when you think of having great Japanese food, the restaurant comes into mind. However, the indulgence comes with a price, as Kampachi is [...]
