Hawker Food @ Sungai Nibong
Ahh.. finally an update lol. This time I will post up the food we had for dinner after the team building event in Gua Tempurung, Perak. The place we went to is located in Sungai Nibong, along the way to USM/N-Park. If you are coming from Butterworth, take head to the big roundabout near Krystal Point and take the 1 o’clock exit. Continue about 150m down the road and you will see a Shell on your left. The foodcourt is just behind the petrol station.
I used to come here a few years ago when my sister was still studying in USM. We would have our dinner here every Sunday night before dropping off my sister in the campus. The variety of food to choose from is vast, ranging from at least 15-20 stalls. The foodcourt usually starts to get crowded after 6pm, with most of the customers USM students and Bayan Lepas workers.
My choice that night, Char Koay Kak. It tasted a bit bland and didn’t have much ingredients. I can recommend a nice stall in Taman Sri Rambai’s night hawker fare that sells really good Char Koay Kak, with prawns. Since I have had better.. Rating: OK.
How can a plate of Char Koay Kak alone satisfy me?
So I ordered satay for everyone. Rating: OK.
Siang Leng had Hokkien Char, which is also known as Fuk Kin Mien in Kuala Lumpur. Our Fuk Kin Mien here referes to their Prawn Mee though lol. Rating: Good.
The Claypot Chicken Rice. If the rice was cooked more evenly (a lot of white rice were seen) and had Chinese sausages, it’d definitely be nicer. Rating: OK.
Laksa. According to my friend, it’s nice. I didn’t taste it but I believe him la. Rating: Good.
Jiu Hu Eng Cai is a dish of sliced cuttlefish and kangkung topped with rojak sauce and peanuts. It has been ages since I had this, liked it a lot. Rating: Good.
Loh Bak, which is a variety of fried pork rolls, sausages and century eggs to be eaten with special gluey sauce as well as chilli sauce. Rating: Good.
There are more food we had. But because everyone was hungry, I didn’t want to kacau them by taking photos of their food lol. Also recommened are pancake, curry mee and Sabah pan mee.

‘Keh Liao’ Penang Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee) @ Old Green House, Burma Road
about 5 days ago - 3 comments
Old Green House restaurant (老青屋) is a popular place among Penangites to have Hokkien Mee (or Prawn Noodle in other Malaysian states) either as dinner or supper. Although the noodle is also available in the morning at another ‘day shift’ stall, most of the working people only have the opportunity to savor it after working

Sate Zainah Ismail Best Satay In Town @ Jalan Keramat, KL

As you might already know I am desperately looking for a satay in Klang Valley that could rival, and perhaps even better than those that I had in Singapore which I hate to admit is still the best I ever had to date. So when two of my fellow readers recommended Sate Zainah Ismail at

For a common kuih, Kuih Tayap has many names. Whether called Ketayap, Kuih Ketayap, Kuih Dadar or Kuih Gulung, they all refer to the same thing. This traditional Malaysian snack is actually a rolled crepe filled typically with shredded coconut and palm sugar. Because of its popularity the recipe has been adopted by all races

One of the oldest hawker stall in Penang that is still operating can be found at Kedai Kopi Seng Thor @ Lebuh Carnavon. Seng Thor is particularly famous its Lor Mee but I feel the Lor Bak here deserves a better mention. The uncle has been selling his home-made lor bak daily without fail for

To be honest, I haven’t tried a lot of Indonesian food but I can vouch my love for Ayam Penyet, this wonderful traditional dish that originates from Subaraya. Smashed fried chicken served with rice and spicy hot sambal, so simple yet so additively delicious. Not too far away from Tampines at Changi Village is Sri

The Char Koay Teow stall along Siam Road, Penang has gotta be one of the best in town. And a good thing about it is you won’t be charged exorbitantly for a plate of Char Koay Teow – something that is supposed to be cheap and affordable but is fast becoming a gourmet priced food

I believe the Seafood Popiah at Gerai Gerai Padang Brown (or also known as Dato Keramat Stalls) is one of the oldest in Penang with a history of over 60 years, even older than the food court which was opened back in 1966. Currently run by uncle Ong, it could might as well be the
