Thanks for vkeong information, i just went to Langkawi on Jun. The rate RM35 for island hoping still available, not only for Tanjung Malie, but also many motel along Pantai Cenang.
All the boat depart from the same place which is before Porto Malai Awana Resort. But i guess there is a few agency so whether the boat is new or old, it depend on your luck.
The van that fetch me and my family from Tanjung Malie Motel to the “jetty” is very old… But luckily my boat is only 5 of us, so worth it anyway.

Thanks Vkeong for the reply. The beach does look sooo nice on the photos and the sea doesnt look too rough, juz wondering if would encounter the odd jellyfish wen going for a dip. Heee!

vk: You’re welcome, enjoy your Langkawi Trip.. I sure did enjoy mine And I don’t think there’s any jellyfish in Langkawi’s waters.. can’t say the same about Penang’s waters though lol!

Could u give an opinion if the sea by pantai cenang/tengah is swimmable? Most budget hotels here do not have pools. Thanks

vk: Vivien, the sea is swimmable, no worries. It’s not too dirty too. Well that’s what I thought when I went 2 years ago If you want a nicer beach, you can head to Pelangi Beach Resort (also along Pantai Cenang).. sneak in there and use their pool or beach.. I did that lol..

dis coming friday i n my fren (9ppl) is staying at tanjung malie beach motel. but, the problem for us, is how to get a van for 9 ppl (coz v all looking for fair rate).
hope that u can recommand us.
your cooperated is highly appreciated.

Hi Lee, sorry I don’t have any idea for cheap van to rent.. you could probably decide at the jetty before going on board the ferry. There will be agents there giving flyers for car rental.. you’d can negotiate there

@Chelsea: Langkawi is very safe and Pantai Cenang (Cenang Beach) is very crowded in the day or night. So I think you will do fine there. Tanjung Malie motel IMO is clean and quite comfy, and the owner is a friendly person. You can ask him to organize island hopping trips. For food, there’s plenty of it along Cenang Beach.. it’s easier to access them if you rent a car. And for beach.. once you step out of Tanjung Malie, it’s the beach already! If you want to see nicer beach, you could go to Pelangi Beach Resort, it’s only 10 minutes away. I am sure they will let you in

i’m going to book a room with 2 Q Size bed at Tanjung Malie, safe at night to stay ? Is the room comfortable ? Easy access to beach and restaurants ?
