Jetty Restaurant

Posted by: vkeong In: Food and Drink| Penang| Seafood ()

Jetty Restaurant is a seafood restaurant in Batu Maung which I got to know from my colleague. The only reason I would want to dine here is because it is said to be have a ‘floating on the sea feeling’.. The restaurant is awkwardly situated by a small port, deep in a small hill. And because it’s constructed on sea water, it can be a bit shaky hence the floating feel.

Not gonna give out the direction to the restaurant because this dinner was a bad experience, one of the worst I had. Not only I was brutally overcharged, the food did not taste as good as the pricing should have suggested.

Fried rice was ok. At least my RM3.50 was not wasted. But seriously, if they couldn’t even fry a plate of rice properly, don’t even bother opening a restaurant.

This is the ultimate ripoff.. 6 medium sized prawns fried in curry powder costed me a freaking RM18!! RM18 I can buy 2kg of big fresh prawn from the market already, fry myself better la! Oh damn I still can feel the pain even when I am typing this..

This is one of their specialty, deep fried boneless chicken wing stuffed with seafood. It’s something new alright but damn expensive, RM4.50 per wing!

They only have yau choi, and the only vegetable to choose from are kai lan and lettuce. Period.

The satays are sold by a small stall beside the restaurant. They tasted just like the satays sold in Bukit Tambun - meaty and barbequed together with the peanut sauce. The most ridiculous thing I find about this restaurant is the seafood.. There’s hardly anything to order besides fish, crab and prawn. And the cooking methods are so limited too. No wonder business was bad. RM38.50 I rather go eat at Domino’s, can order 2 large pizzas already. Super satisfying somemore. I am gonna restrict myself from having seafood in Batu Maung anymore.. none of them is as good and cheap as those in Bukit Tambun.
