Tho Yuen Dim Sum Restaurant
Nov 5th
The last time I went to [tag]Tho Yuen Restaurant[/tag] for [tag]Dim Sum[/tag], it was nearly lunch time and all the dim sum were sold out. Because of that we had to settle for their famed chicken rice instead. So this time we went there earlier and lucky for us there were still some dim sum left this time.
Besides selling chicken rice and dim sum, Tho Yuen also serves various noodles and porridge (which all look super nice too) Most of the patrons here are the elder generation, all chatting their mornings away while enjoying their favorite cup of tea. And I think Tho Yuen will never run out of tea either because there’s a tea leaves shop directly opposite lol. Talk about strategic location.
My blog appeared in The Star newspaper!
Nov 4th
Today I had a spike in my blog’s traffic, almost 5 times the usual number of visitors. Considering it’s Sunday and it is also the day of the week I receive the least visitors, it was weird. So I checked the traffic referrers and surprisingly, it was TheStar online! They put up an article I wrote some time ago regarding Long Beach Cafe and the chicken chop I had. Woo hoo I am so excited, get the article here.
My first HDR image
Nov 3rd
Nice or not? It may look normal but let me show you the original photo before applying HDR technique.
According to uncle wiki, HDR is
In computer graphics and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI) is a set of techniques that allows a far greater dynamic range of exposures (i.e. a large range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to the deepest shadows.
It’s surprisingly easy to create such photos, all you need is a tripod and camera that can shoot photos in different exposure values! Try it, you’ll be amazed at the results. Oh by the way, this is Penang’s Port Swettenham. A lot of development and face lifts have taken place so it looks very nice now.
Chulia Street Mother and Son Wantan Mee
Nov 1st
Two weeks ago I posted about a famous curry mee in [tag]Chulia Street[/tag], this time it’s about the mother and son [tag]wantan mee[/tag] stall selling beside it. It is named mother and son simply because a mother and her son are operating it.
The mother would boil the noodles while the son prepares the ingredients and serve customers. I think she looks kinda cool in this photo lol.
