Max Gourment Dim Sum Restaurant
Jan 20th
Everytime I go to [tag]Queensbay[/tag], food is a problem. They are either fast food only or too expensive for a normal meal. Then there are those which are nice and reasonable but often too packed making the waiting time unbearable. Luckily Shanghai Ding Tai Feng and Max Gourmet Restaurant are available within walking distance from Queensbay. You should really try the restaurants along the road leading to Queensbay, they are pretty good for me so far. Parking is expensive as they are privatized but you can always park in Queensbay for RM1 per entry, ha!
Max Gourmet mainly focuses on dim sum and [tag]HK-style food[/tag]. My choice for the night was Roasted Duck Drumstick noodle which comes at a very reasonable price of RM5.50. Fuyoh, cheap and nice. What I love about roasted duck the most is the crispy skin! Recommended.
Faces Steak Garden
Jan 17th
If you happen to be in [tag]Tanjung Tokong[/tag] area and want to have some cheap Western food, [tag]Faces Steak Garden[/tag] is not a bad choice. There are quite a selection of food and the prices range from RM7.90 to RM17.90 at most. The restaurant’s lighting is minimal so the photos may appear blurry and do not look as good as it should be.
If you are having the meal with your partner I would recommend ordering the fruit juice at large size @RM5.50. It is definitely more than enough for two and more worthy compared to the normal size @RM3.50. The large cup is at least triple the size of a normal cup. We also felt we made the right choice hehe.
Jong’s Crocodile Farm – Part 1
Jan 13th
Located approximately 30km from Kuching is Jong’s Crocodile Farm. It is located on the Kuching-Serian Road and was the next place I visited after visiting the orang utans in Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. I have read about this crocodile farm in sixthseal and the tourist guides. I have always been interested in reptiles especially snakes and crocodiles so this was not to be missed. Do you know crocodiles are actually living dinosaurs? They are the toughest survivor and many have predicted they will still be around after men’s extinction. That’s why they fascinate me so much.
To reach Jong’s Crocodile Farm you can always take the public bus or pay the local cab which is a van. I’d recommend taking a van because they would drop you somewhere not too far from crocodile farm. But it’s still quite a walk from where we were dropped off.
Poor Man’s Sushi
Jan 12th
Although I love [tag]sushi[/tag], I cannot afford to eat in Sakae Sushi every time. So when I’m feeling poor but still want to enjoy sushi I would purchase some off the hypermarket’s shelves. It’s also a very convenient meal when I am going for a movie because they are easy and fast to finish up. And not to mention they are also very easy to smuggle into the cinemas lol.
