Malaysia Food Blog, Malaysia Travel Blog

BM Kia says..
As I read through my blog posts for 2008, I found most of them are restaurant related reviews. I think this is deviating from my original purpose of food blogging, which is to discover and promote local foods, especially hawker fares. If not, it wouldn't be fit to be called "Malaysia Food Blog" So, my main aim of blogging for year 2009 would be to continue to do what I actually enjoyed the most - to travel, discover and promote cheap and tasty food.

Vkeong.com changed hosting

Posted by: vkeong In: Blogging () (3 views)

Past few weeks have been a disaster for my blog. My hosting always went down and I lost a lot of traffic. So I have since changed my hosting provider and am struggling to keep my blog intact. As you may have seen the theme is now the default Wordpress theme..

Seems like there is a problem with my old theme, so I have to troubleshoot it. Sigh..

That being said, avoid Hive hosting (www.hive.com.my) at all cost. They screwed my blog up a lot of times already. Now I am using Server Freak, super good and responsive support. Thanks goldfries for suggesting me this.

*If you are looking at the old website with all those 404 errors, please bear with it and wait till the DNS propagation is complete. It’d usually take less than 24 hours to complete. Thanks for visiting my blog again!

Congrats on the host transfer. Yes!! I have to totally agree with you on avoiding Hive Hosting at all cost. I was hosting my blog on that host when I moved my blog to own hosted Wordpress around August 2007. Within those months, my blog was always down due to the host problem. And I did lost some traffic.

Currently I have my blog hosted in a Canada server. More stable and at least won’t down all the time. It’s good that you moved away from Hive. (their service and support really sucks, that’s sad.)

To be frank none of the Malaysian hosting company are reliable. Like what I host the 8TV ho chak ! show. They didn’t give you that exact bandwidth or processing to use as promised in the plan. When my traffic are heavy, they said I am overloaded usage. (Meaning you can only have concurrent 10 users at one time). My site currently having 700+ unique visitors per day and never have any problem with my current host.
