Malaysia Food Blog, Malaysia Travel Blog

BM Kia says..
As I read through my blog posts for 2008, I found most of them are restaurant related reviews. I think this is deviating from my original purpose of food blogging, which is to discover and promote local foods, especially hawker fares. If not, it wouldn't be fit to be called "Malaysia Food Blog" So, my main aim of blogging for year 2009 would be to continue to do what I actually enjoyed the most - to travel, discover and promote cheap and tasty food.

MIFC 2008 - Team Malaysia

Posted by: vkeong In: Event| Photography| Putrajaya| Selangor| Travel () (19 views)

Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008 - MIFC is currently being held at PICC, Putrajaya. There are 5 teams in this fireworks competition namely Malaysia, China, Spain, Canada and Australia. Being the host for a second consecutive year, team Malaysia was the first to display fireworks last night on 12th August 08.
Unlike the previous year, there won’t be any tickets sold this year. Entrance to PICC to witness the firework display is totally free! Even shuttle buses are provided to transfer spectators from the car park to PICC. Each firework display will last about 20-25 minutes and it was a dazzling performance by team Malaysia!

The schedule for MIFC 2008 is as follow:

  1. Team Malaysia - August 12 (Tuesday)
  2. Team China - August 16 (Saturday)
  3. Team Canada - August 20 (Wednesday)
  4. Team Spain - August 24 (Sunday)
  5. Team Australia + Grand Finale - August 29 (Friday)

For sure I will catch China’s firework performance this weekend. There’s no excuse to miss Malaysia International Fireworks Competition! Do come early at about 7pm even though the fireworks will only start at 9.30pm. You would surely want to grab the nicest spot possible in PICC to capture the firework lol.
