CAFF Italian Fusion Restaurant @ Bandar Puteri Puchong
CAFF prides itself as the first Italian Fusion Restaurant in Puchong with their very own “Open-Kitchen”. This means that you can actually see the chef in action preparing your ordered food. Nothing is hidden and it draws the customers closer to the kitchen. CAFF serves a combination of Italian, Asian and Western menu to cater for local taste buds. Hence, the fusion concept. Established in 2005, CAFF serves mainly Pasta, Pizza and grilled food. I came to know CAFF through 8TV’s Hochak and the Oven Baked Escargot (snail) featured in the show gave me a deep impression on the restaurant.
The restaurant had a promotion going on where you could have 3 menu items at very cheap prices. The requirement is that you need to order a main course from the pizza, pasta or grilled menu. Each order will give you a selection: mushroom soup, iced lemon tea or ice cream at heavily discounted price.
We ordered 2 mains. So, we chose mushroom soup (promotional price of RM2) for the starter and a glass of iced lemon tea (promotional price of RM2 too) FYI, ordering the mushroom soup via ala carte would cost RM5.90. So, it’s a discount of more than 50% – making it a really good deal. The mushroom soup tasted superb, it was very creamy and rich. Definitely recommended if you’re eligible for the promotional price.
Then came our 1/2 dozen Oven Baked Escargot @ RM15. Escargot is the French word for snail. They are mostly used in preparing French cuisine especially in appetizers. CAFF prepared the escargorts by baking them with garlic and cajun cream sauce, then topped with mozzarella cheese. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the dish. Although the snails’ texture was excellent, they were basically quite tasteless. The dish had to rely on the cheese and cream sauce very much for the flavor. However, I am really glad I fulfilled my curiosity about baked escargots! Having the experience of using a snail tong (to hold the shell) and a snail fork (to extract the meat) is great lol.
One of our mains was Turkey Ham Special Pizza. Because there were too many delicious pizzas to choose from, we took the waiter’s recommendation for this. The pizza was 10 inches in size and can serve 8 pieces. It was topped with honey mayonnaise, turkey ham, chicken ham and some pineapples. I enjoyed the pizza thorougly and I seriously consider it as one of the best pizzas I ever had. The toppings were wonderful and the pizza crust was super crunchy.. every bite makes a satisfying crunchy sound! Best of all it only costs RM15, way cheaper than Pizza Hut.
A small serving of Caesar Salad @ RM8 does not look small at all! The portion is quite huge and comes with generous amount of turkey ham as you can see. It’s made up of fresh romain lettuce in CAFF’s homemade Caesar dressing, topped with turkey ham, egg bacon bits and croutons. If you didn’t know, croutons are those crunchy bread like cubes. Before this I have never considered ordering salads before in restaurants. But after tasting CAFF’s Caesar Salad, I totally changed my mind. It’s very light, refreshing and tasty, another must have!
We also took the waiter’s recommendation for pasta, Olio Mushroom @ RM14. It’s a stir fry pasta with button mushroom and garlic. Sadly, it turned out that it was the worst dish among all. I don’t know why, but the pasta tasted really weird and bitter. Not sure if it’s due to the huge amount of mushroom used to prepare the pasta. I won’t even recommend this to a hardcore mushroom lover lol.
Our meal came to a total of RM61.60 including service charge and government tax of 5% each. To me, it’s very reasonable for getting to try so many different foods. Next time you drop by Bandar Puteri Puchong, do pay a visit to CAFF. No regrets. And I am already looking forward to my next meal here, haha! Been to CAFF twice and i agree that the salad and mushroom soup is nice. The pizzas there taste good too. If not mistaken, there’s a pizza type where duck meat is the main ingredient.

i LOVE escargots! the ones here looks yummy ….
in fact, escargots on its own when tasteless are BETTER, cz if not you’ll taste the rubbery texture and muddy smell, which will definitely put you off …
judging from the pic, the escargots were already ‘crawling’ out from the shells, no?
makes picking the flesh so much easier …

We just went to Caff Restaurant few days earlier. We kinda dissapointed with the food as the food is not as tasty as before and the portion is so small. Besides, the service is not good at all. I’ll never go there again.

I had been to this restoran many times since it’s opening and very satisfied with its food and service, but until recently, the food was bad and service was very lousy. We even found hair in the food…and remember, do not get trick into ordering the ” eat all u can” menu…coz they will simply charge u extra with other terms and conditions apply. Frankly speaking, better don’t go there.
