Pavilion KL @ Bukit Bintang

March 16, 2008

During my trip to Kuala Lumpur last week, I also visited Pavilion KL in Bukit Bintang. My first impression on Pavilion was huge, grand and very expensive. I don’t think I can afford anything inside lol. And maybe because it was a weekday, there weren’t as much people I expected. Food Republic, the classy food court is almost a dream come true for food bloggers like me, it has almost everything! The exorbitant price is something to think about though. I can only display the photos which fit my blog’s width. So, please go ahead and click on them if you want a bigger and better view.

Food Republic is full of people during lunch time and well deserted after that. Almost wanted to queue up in J.Co Donuts which is the current craze in KL, but the queue is just unbelievably long. Maybe next time..

gsc cinema pavillion

GSC Cinema is empty, lol. And I believe Midvalley’s GSC is still the largest in KL.

The front entrance is very impressive and a big stage is located in the center for fashion shows.

What a boring post lol. I think most of the folks in KL have already been to Pavilion and probably lined up for the J.Co donuts too lol. Well for me, Pavilion is great but I still prefer to shop in Midvalley where the floor area is not that big. What about you?

For simple folks like me…going to Pavilion is just to look see, look see….And I feel sad being there too. You see, they demolished my old Bukit Bintang Girls’ School to build Pavilion!

Yes, the price at Food Republic is exorbitant. I’ve to spend at least RM20 or more just to get me filled up. Nevertheless, they offer a huge variety of foods which is good for customers.

Wait till you see the queue at J.Co on weekends. You’ll think that some International artist is having an autograph session in there..

My friends love to go there, I don’t know why. Next time, you should try the green tea tart at Food Republic instead of donuts!

Green tea tart, got it! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Toast Box ok for tea break, won’t burn hole in pocket. JCo go on weekdays earlier can get pretty fast. John King egg tarts! Durian is fantastic! All tarts Rm2 and less each.

Pavilion is a refreshing change to the Bukit Bintang landscape as it has been infested by lala zhais and lala muis for so long. Although it looks very exclusive, I reckon it’s at the same level with 1 Utama, as you can still find shops like Padini, Giordano and some other local brands alongside designer stuff. The Gardens at Mid Valley, however, is really exclusive.

Pavilion’s GSC is really good, but be prepared to pay RM12 for a normal ticket.

Yea I agree with ZH, The Gardens is actually more classy than The Pavilion, due to the fact that it already has Mid Valley to accomodate all the local and medium class brands. Thus, by expanding to The Gardens, they can afford to invite only prestigious brands. You can actually see difference because the crowd in The Gardens is much less since the brands there are for those who can really afford expensive things. They also encourages branding a lot, because the GSC in The Gardens is called The Signature, while in Pavilion, it’s still called GSC Pavilion. I usually date my girlfriend around The Gardens, Pavilion and The Curve coz she likes to buy expensive stuffs, but sometimes we do miss the crowd and older malls like 1U, Sg Wang, Times Square and Mid Valley.
