Malaysians, Exercise Your Democratic Rights

March 7, 2008

Above video taken from DAP’s website - Announcement : Guan Eng to address all Malaysians

I have been struggling whether I should do this post. But what the heck. This is my first time voting and as you all know I’d be voting in Bukit Mertajam. To those who have registered and going to vote tomorrow, good for you. You will decide the future of Malaysia’s as well your next generations to follow.

To those who have registered but too late, hopefully you will make it earlier in the next election.

And to those who didn’t even take the effort to register, you are a not a responsible citizen. You are not exercising your Democratic rights. You are jeopardizing the nation’s future. Many of my friends and colleagues who are way above the required age to vote are surprisingly not even a registered voter.

Truthfully, I am very disappointed with them and I have lost all my respect for them. Few of them are even my senior and superior in the company. If you cannot even be a responsible citizen, you are certainly not qualified to lead me.

There’s a saying that beggars cannot be choosers. I think, “non-voters cannot be complainers“. One day if you cannot cope with the ever increasing cost of living, crime rate and corruption, DON’T COMPLAIN. You had the chance to make a change for the better, but you blew it.

    Nice speech, but lacking some omph in it.

    Paiseh lah, I belum register myself to vote lagi.

    Another vote wasted. >_<

    Must register and vote for the next one.

    Pray hard that BN don’t win two-third majority of the seats again. -_-

    @Yoshi:
    Voting does makes a difference! Argh! I missed this one, must not miss the upcoming one. Hopefully, by that time, Malaysia is not a pile of mess which is beyond redemption already. -_-

    2/3 majority denied! It could’ve been a greater success if more people turned up to vote.. Anyway I am proud as a Penangite to be a part of the voters who wanted a change and we proved we could do it!

    Finally I see light in Penang’s future…
