Engka Portobello Restaurant & Bar – Breakfast & Brunch @ Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL
| Share |
It was a fine Sunday morning, nearing lunch time and we haven’t had anything to eat yet. We were sure to do some shopping at Pavilion and I remembered a nice cozy looking restaurant with many Westeners having their meals there.
So we headed to Engka Portobello and was pleasantly surprised that their brunch and breakfast sets were actually quite affordable. The sets are priced from RM11 onwards, some with coffee included.
Illy Coffee is served here. My cup of Cappuccino looked like it just experienced a small eruption lol.
This was the cheapest breakfast set offered in Engka Portobello, a Straight Up Set @ RM11 that consisted of bacon (mmm.. bacon), egg, chipolata’s (a type of French grilled sausage), baked beans, toasted bread and it was accompanied with a coffee.
Hidden from view on the other side of the plate was a butter, just for the sake of showing. I think that RM11 for a set like this with coffee included is quite cheap considering it’s Bukit Bintang area.
This is the Farmer Bratwurst set @ RM18 from the brunch menu, which had sausage with sauteed potato, green pea, bacon rasher (MMM.. bacon!) and malt platter.
The portion was quite huge and more importantly, it was nice. I liked everything especially the tender and flavorful sausage. Well except for the greens, it was quite awful for me because of its bitterness.
Heavenly bacon is heavenly – one can simply never have enough of it. At least, until you cannot stand the saltiness anymore. And it’s fattening too lol.
Free WI-FI is available here and to me, it’s a casual spot for me to spend my weekend mornings. I can easily spend hours here reading the newspaper or surf the Internet while sipping my coffee away. BUT! Parking is a problem.

Wow an RM11 meal in Changkat?? This is a brilliant find! I am betting that it’s not real chipolata though!

Yeah RM11 is quite worth it – compared to spending it at kopitiam chains like OldTown.. you’d only get a few toasts and half boiled egg.. or just a bowl of noodle.

hey never realised they’re that cheap. not the degrading kind, mind you.
the frothy cappucino’s bound to give you a good milk/foam moustache!

The food looks good & price OK considering where it is located. But I bet the coffee is not that great when compared to Espressamente-Illy @a Pavillion.
