Bought 40 sticks of chicken (70sen/stick), 10 sticks of beef (95sen/stick) & a roll of “nasi hempit” (RM4/roll) yesterday.

The chicken’s nice but not as good as Samuri’s chicken which has more tender meat, NO fat & minimal charring of the meat. My mother-in-law normally doesn’t eat satay but she likes Samuri’s.

Pondok’s beef’s as good as Samuri’s while the nasi hempit’s soft.

The real winner is the sauce/kuah which is much better than Samuri’s.

Overall, Samuri Kajang still leads!

i like Pondok Satay restoran bcz there is garlic naan is very nice in subang jaye and tandoori and daal also very very very nice i hope is a good exiprance

went back to this place in Nov 2011. had mutton , beef and chicken satay…….. glad to say the standard was still maintained…… looks like it is one of the regular places i will visit whenever i visit my sis.

NO DOUBT THE STAY VERY DELICIOUS BUT THE RESTAURANT OWNER IS VERY BAD PERSON.TAKE IN WORKERS BY THE DOZEN,COME AND GO DAILY..BECAUSE THIS OWNER CALL HAMID KASSIM DOESN’T PAY HIS WORKERS THEIR WAGES..HE ONLY GOOD AT HIRING PEOPLE BUT NEVER GOOD AT PAYING SALARY.

came to visit my sister in USJ whom has never heard of this place although it is just 15 minutes away. i was really impressed by the KUAH : thick, full of flavour with just enough of sweetness. it is one of the best KUAH i have tasted. the KETUPAT was nice too. unfortunately, the satay was not too good. as the business was good, the chicken came charred. . the beef and mutton were not spicy enough ( my taste standard). i would try again and would go when there is less crowded. tried kajang satay last year but it did not give me a good impression (would say i am not used to the taste of kajang satay).

I tried satay at pondok satay for abt 10 years back and it is indeed very different and way much better compared to samuri (I agree with u Vkeong). I really enjoy this satay

pondok sate ha.. the satay there good but the worker got attitude problem loh…. specially the the cashier …she so rude + wearing tudong somore…and they all illegal…

ya, once the standard dropped but now the taste and quality came back. perhaps changed of manager.
i can go there once a week to eat.
best is the beef. extremely tender.
but their nasi is not compared enough.
also they serve too little cucumber and onions when you dine in. better tapau that they give you more.

u should try satay at keramat the best satay i’ve tried big chunk of meat for 0.60 per stick, situated at medan selera keramat au5 i think

Got a chance to try..soso laaa, normal one, even same level as pasar ramadhan stall satay. Cant beat Satay Kajang, Haji Samuri lah…
Kuah Kacang ok, nice..however after eating 10 sticks, so muak one…
Not that great..only 2 star rating!
