Ismal Char Koay Teow @ Jalan Bunga Raya, Bukit Mertajam
Went back to BM recently and had Ismal Char Koay Teow for dinner. It is still RM5 for a plate of Char Koay Teow Special, which comes with extra prawns, cockles and a sunny side up egg.
It still tasted as awesome like usual. But I realized I should have tried the Char Koay Teow in front of Wonderful Supermarket at Alma instead for a change. Sorry to those who have suggested me that place, I simply forgot and will remember to try it on my next trip back home.
Loaded with prawns and cockles and fried with their self made special kicap, the gravy is extremely flavorful. I often find myself finishing the gravy faster than the noodles itself. And not to mention setting the prawns aside to savor them last.
By the way, it is said that as long as you can get hold of a bottle of their special sauce, whipping up a nice plate of Char Koay Teow would be piece of cake lol.
Ismal Char Koay Teow, one of the eateries not to be missed in Bukit Mertajam. Located across the road from BM’s post office, and next to Alka Ria.

vkeong, just wondering whether do you go all the way just to try out the food? Timely and costly.
You should tried a shop named Louisiana @ Kelana Jaya. Quite a popular place there recently.

This looks good for a Malay version of ckt, but I don’t fancy cockles and prawn.
So for those who eats with me will get to savor extra cockles and prawn
