Premium Pork Belly Satay @ Kwong Satay, Geylang Lorong 29

Remember I mentioned before Kwong Satay serves the best pork satay I ever had in Singapore? I still stand by my statement after going around the island trying the rest. The second best’s taste doesn’t even come close to Kwong Satay to be honest. This would be my top recommendation for pork satay if you’re planning a trip to Singapore soon.
Anyway after giving up hope on finding a better one I returned for it again one day but for their premium pork belly satay instead, priced at $1 a stick.
This is how the premium pork belly looked like, a piece of pork belly meat side by side with a piece of crunchy pork fat on a skewer. The texture of the meat and fat from the pork belly part is indeed different from the rest of the pork cuts – just more tender and succulent.
Compared to the normal chicken and pork satay at 40 cents a stick, the pork belly satay is good enough to be enjoyed on its own without having to be dipped into the peanut sauce.
Actually both the normal pork satay and the pork belly satay are equally good and nice in their own ways. I guess it still depends on your own preference and budget. Some people actually don’t like the fats on the pork belly satay and discard them (I cringed when I saw that lol) while I like it a lot.
And Swee Guan Hokkien Mee plus a can of Root Beer are my usual orders to go with the satays, the noodles is really not bad although lacking quality control sometimes.

Oh yes, this is one of the very few Singaborean food that truly amazed me. Taste superb even w/out the sauce. Surprisingly this comes from a usual ‘stereotype, clean n square ,kiasi’ society. If it does not increase my tummy size , I ll have it for supper everyday. Does anyone know any similar satay in KL ?
