Artista Bar & Restaurant @ Tropicana City Mall, Petaling Jaya
Was at Artista Bar and Restaurant recently since I got some food and drink vouchers from Groupsmore to spend. Described as an identity of where food meets art, Artista is a place meant to unwind or to catch live band performances every weekend and on particular week nights.
The menu is not very extensive, which is pretty much expected for a bar cum restaurant outlet. Expect to find more Western food in Artista, also with some local delights like fried rice, noodles and nasi lemak.
Grilled Rib Eye @ RM42, for that kind of pricing I’d at least expect my meat to be cooked according to my request (medium) but it was served well done with a couple of burnt spots. Needless to say because of this the rib eye was hard, chewy and had no flavor. I don’t know really know why I didn’t send it back lol. Luckily the cheese potato was great, and the red wine reduction sauce was rich and good enough so this dish was saved from redemption.
The Thyme Lamb Casserole @ RM26 was just too watery and tasted very bland. And even though the portion is huge and comes with five cuts of lamb chops, they have too much fat rendering the dish overwhelming with lamb’s smell.
Honestly I did not have too much expectation from Artista considering they present themselves as a bar more than a restaurant. And although I am not too impressed with their food during my maiden visit I was particularly attracted by their set lunch deal at only RM10 nett per pax that includes main course, soup, dessert and drink.
So if you are interested, you could also get a RM50 worth of voucher just for half the price at Groupsmore. Not a bad deal considering RM25 could pay for 5 people’s lunch, moreoever in PJ.

They should have fried the lamb first to get the nice aroma out. This dish tastes very bland.
