Compared to Publika’s branch of Angus House Japanese Charcoal Steak, Starhill’s seems awfully quiet. Maybe because Starhill gives the impression of being expensive and exclusive. But if you are willing to pay a little extra, the food here is worth going for – honest and consistently good, better than some pretentious restaurant that self-claim to be the best.
300g Rib Eye Steak @ RM130 – Meat doneness is not an issue here as the chefs know what they are doing. In our visits thus far, our steaks have always come out a perfect tender medium rare without fail.
Our experience here actually mirrors the one we had at Publika last year. So you could say it was overall a pleasant meal and I actually liked the radish and mirin sauce this round. Somehow it did not taste out of place as the flavor complemented the meats quite nicely.
Instead of going for beef and fish again we tried the lobster (set @ RM172), which was humongous and packed full of sweet and succulent flesh. Satisfying is the only way to describe this dish.
Opting for set meals is recommended as it includes an appetizer, salad, soup and dessert. The extra amount paid is justified considering the dishes you get are well-prepared, especially the one bite mini burger (could differ by day) and cake.
All and all, price is the only discouragement when it comes to eating at Angus House. To be completely honest this place is not so affordable for regular income earners like me. So if this is one of the restaurants you plan to visit, keep an eye out for discount vouchers on group buying sites. We actually bought a couple to use here and it saved us about 30% of the total bill.
