Gurney Drive
Song River Cafe @ Gurney Drive, Penang
Oct 20th
Song River Cafe is a popular hawker center along Gurney Drive which is reportedly to have good hawker food especially for their Bak Kut Teh, Hokkien Mee, BBQ Chicken and Roti Babi.
I read many good reviews about Song River in a Penang Food Guide so I just had to check it out myself. Besides, prior to the visit I have never heard of Roti Babi before – it sure has a funny name lol.
Penang Famous Edgecumbe Mee Goreng @ Gurney Drive
May 29th
This mee goreng stall along Gurney Drive is a recommendation based on RasaRasa.net’s Penang Food guide book. I don’t have a copy of the book though, it was borrowed from a friend. Referred as “Penang Famous Edgecumbe Road Mee Rebus/Mee Goreng“, I just had to seek out this stall and see how much truth the claim holds.
Bali Hai Seafood Market @ Gurney Drive
May 5th
You won’t believe where I went to celebrate my last Valentine’s day. It wasn’t at any fancy Western restaurant nor a romantic candle light dinner. Partly because most of the restaurants in [tag]Penang[/tag] were already fully booked a few days ahead. So, we decided to have a seafood feast at Bali Hai Seafood Market – a seafood restaurant along Gurney Drive. We thought that the money would be better spent on [tag]seafood[/tag] than lamb or steaks. And boy, did we make a helluva good decision!
Food Loft @ Gurney Plaza
Aug 31st
I must be [tag]Penang[/tag]‘s slowest food blogger to blog about [tag]Food Loft[/tag] in [tag]Gurney Plaza[/tag]. It has been around for more than 1 year already and even Kenny Sia blogged about it all the way from Kuching lol. Honestly I didn’t know about Food Loft until my colleague told me about it. Anyway, better late than never. I won’t post the photos of the restaurant because they are vastly available in other blogs. So lets get to the main point: food.
