Cat Statues of Kuching
Oct 8th
[tag]Kuching[/tag] is also called ‘[tag]Cats City[/tag]‘ or ‘[tag]City of Cats[/tag]‘ for nothing. The cat statues not only gives a unique feel to the city, they are also nice photography subjects. This white cat is the Kuching South City Council [tag]Cat Statue[/tag], it was built in the 90s and is the first ever cat statue in Kuching. For me, it is the nicest and friendliest looking of all. It sits in front of the Little China Town along Jalan Padungan and looks like it is welcoming visitors with its waving hand lol.
Sarawak Kolo Mee
Oct 6th
Kolo Mee is another famous hawker food in [tag]Sarawak[/tag]. It is one of the most common food found in [tag]Kuching[/tag], you can see it being sold at every corner of the city. The nicest Kolo Mee I had so far was in [tag]Chong Choon Cafe[/tag] again, in which I had nice Sarawak Laksa too.
Sarawak Laksa
Oct 3rd
Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee are definitely the first foods that come into mind when one mentions Kuching, Sarawak. I’ve seen and read so much about Sarawak Laksa in Kenny Sia and sixthseal‘s blogs that I was dying to know how they taste like. No other food managed to make me feel that way, so I have to thank them for this. They have been promoting these foods so hard and have taken so many yummy photos too.
If you are an avid Penang reader of Kenny Sia’s blog, you should know that he came to Penang earlier this year to compare Sarawak and Penang food. Because I have tried both Penang Laksa and Sarawak Laksa, I can finally understand why Sarawakians would be so disappointed and dislike the taste of Penang Laksa. The reason is they are totally different dish altogether!

This year the festival’s theme is “[tag]Hello Kitty[/tag] and Friends in Penang Safari” and it is held in [tag]Juru[/tag] [tag]Auto-City[/tag]. Earlier this year there was another lantern carnival too but it was held in Pesta Pulau Pinang. Feel free to take a look and make a comparison of the featured lanterns.
