privé is a fine dining restaurant at the Marina Keppel Bay, a waterfront precinct that houses a luxurious residential apartments and a private marina. And even the island itself is private. To access privé you will have to cross the Keppel Bay Bridge that connects the island to the mainland.
Although it was quite a long walk, the scenery was rewarding enough to make it worthwhile. Anyway the reason I went to privé was to try their all day breakfast, and the scenic view was definitely a plus.
The all day breakfast is served at privé’s bakery cafe from 9.30am to 5pm, with five selections to choose from ranging from $13.5 to $17. Additional toppings like ham, bacon, mushroom or salmon can be ordered at $3 a portion.
For my brunch I chose the privé Ultimate Breakfast @ $17, the serving was huge and had 2 eggs scrambled (or fried), sausage, Arugula (the slightly bitter greens), mushroom, roasted tomato, baked beans, toasts and fried bacon strips. Mmm.. bacons, I like.
As much as the platter of breakfast looked appetizing and all, only the scrambled eggs was outstanding. It was perfectly done, easily being one of the milkiest and creamiest scrambled eggs I ever had. A little seasoning was all it needed. However the sausages were quite tasteless and had a rather coarse texture, which I didn’t really liked.
Vanilla Iced Coffee, pricey but it was alright.
Besides the fine dining restaurant itself and an al fresco dining at the bakery cafe, privé also has casual and comfy Waterfront Bar for cocktails, wines and beers.
Now, some photos of the Marina. These are the sceneries to be enjoyed at the restaurants at Marina Keppel Bay. Not sure if non-residential cars are allowed to enter, since it’s a private island for the residents but walking in was not a problem for me. Worth a visit if you are looking for a place to dine in Singapore to feel that you’re not in Singapore. You get what I mean? lol.WWW)
