Delicious @ Mid Valley Megamall

Usually I am not too keen on eating at chain restaurants and even if I do, I would proceed with caution. Well, except for fast food. And since I basically eat anything, I never had a problem eating out anywhere. But if you are planning a meal for a group of people of different races and religions it could be a real headache. That’s when these chain restaurants come into place. Most of the time they have menu for vegetarians, take reservations, accept credit cards and perhaps more importantly – halal.
For convenience’s sake, Delicious at Mid Valley was selected for a meal function recently. My eyes almost popped out looking at the menu because everything is so expensive! Honestly, I am not too excited about Delicious so I am going to keep this one short and say that all the food we had was just average at best, unless stated otherwise.

pan-fried-cod

Pan Seared Cod served with Sauteed Prawns on Ratatouille & Fried Potatoes @ RM48.90 – the best thing about this is the prawns, fresh with a crunchy bite. The cod however, had the fishiest taste to ever cross my tongue.

lasagna

Classic Beef Lasagne @ RM19.90.

wild-mushroom-soup

Wild Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread @ RM13.90 – the price is just bonkers for something so ordinary.

chicken-pasta

Homemade Pesto Spaghettini (RM19.90) + Chargrilled Chicken (RM6.90)

chicken-carbornara

Carbonara Spaghetti with Wild Mushrooms, Beef Bacon, Oregano & Cream @ RM23.90 – this is delicious.

grilled-chicken-burger

Grilled Chicken Burger with Turkey Bacon, Ranch dressing & Fries @ RM22.90.

fish-and-chips

English Fish & Chips with Homemade Tartare Sauce & Garden Greens @ RM29.90 – easily more than double the price of a normal fish & chips but at least it was good.

boxing-chicken

Thai Boxing Chicken Drummets @ RM10.90 – this is actually an appetizer.

chocolate-brownie

Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Sauce & Vanilla Ice Cream @ RM11.90 – this may be quite good but it got nothing on TGI Friday’s Mocha Mud Pie.

delicious

Verdict? Dining at Delicious is not going to be kind on your wallet, and for the price they are charging you are not getting the best bang for your buck too. So I just don’t see the point of eating here. But then again that’s coming from an average salaryman like me.

  1. Wow, the prices are really exorbitant! The presentation is very appealing but well, it can’t be worth that much.

Delicious no more with that kind of price :)

  2. Delicious is a nice place to hang out, breakfast there is not bad one. I also hand some lunches there, I can say its a little pricey and the taste is not really impressive. But food presented nicely, at the least it looks delicious.

  3. Though I actually prefer their chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream to TGIF’s or Chili’s. Decadent, yes. Darn sweet but comfortingly rich.

The other desserts there are not too shabby, IMO.

  4. I have a few teenager friends, and they worship Delicious, although i haven’t step in yet. I’ve check their menu from the Delicious website. Seems like normal and we can make them on our own. I prefer unique eatery, not this.

  5. Hey Dude,

I once read a very inspiring blog that the author said he would not read a certain blog. best i can really was some shitty pictures, and music on the blog. i think the blogger is you, and reality check dude, you’ve got music on your blog!

  6. Their Angel Hair Salmon pasta is good, but the flavour is not always consistent. Aside from that, the other thing that I like here is their Butterscotch milkshake.

  7. very truthful article about delicious, someone should have written this ages ago. the food is expensive , when you consider the ambience, which only looks classy, but my oh my when it gets crowded you cant hear yourself talk, this happens at the penang branch. dont know about the other branches though….
someone also commented about the service , its terrible. dont understand why its still so popular…

  8. i agree, delicious is overrated but middle class people love to be suckered into this franchise for some reason. however, i do recommend their breakfast menu. the continental breakfast they serve there is actually really good. eggs benedict, too.
