I have made some decent food discoveries in my housing area over the last few weekends and Y.HK BBQ Chicken Wings at Taman Sri Sinar is one of them. I wouldn’t go as far as calling it the best until I have tried them all, but it is pretty darn good. So to any BBQ chicken wings lovers out there and especially those in Kepong and Segambut, you owe it to yourself to try this out.
The price is on par with others in town, RM4.20 for a pair if I remember correctly. They are not exactly cheap but it’s not like you are going to break your wallet by ordering dozens of them. The term ‘perfectly barbecued’ will be best to describe the chicken wings. The skin is crispy without any burnt edges while the meat is tender and juicy inside, and even the usually discarded tip parts were edible. A combination of experience, patience and attention to detail at work here.
For a more complete meal, you could also order ‘dai chau’ from the restaurant. The dishes available here are quite common, like those you would expect to see at a normal Chinese restaurant. Taste wise is standard and meets expectation, suitable for a no frills family dinner. Satay is also sold here which I feel is not bad, reasonably priced too at RM0.60 each.
Likes: Delicious chicken wings
Dislikes: Below average cleanliness at the restaurant, flies could be a problem, worse when you order something stinky that attracts them eg. sambal belacan
