Langkawi Trip Part III : Oriental Village

Continued from Langkawi Trip Part II : Cable Car Ride

When we were on our way down from Gunung Mat Cincang, we saw a small area where children were feeding rabbits and deer. It was a mini feeding zoo of sort within Oriental Village. Entrance is free and we bought a packet of rabbit food for RM1.

Langkawi

The rabbits are really fluffy and I particularly liked the grey one, I found it to be the cutest. When not eating, the rabbits would either lie around on their tummy or dig up some holes lol.

The deer was lazing comfortably under a tree, but came after me when saw my packet of food :D The deer’s saliva was all over my palm after that lol. There’s a basin and a soap for visitors to wash their hands after feeding the animals, how thoughtful! Besides feeding the animals, you can also shoot some aarows in the small archery range here at RM5 for 10 shots. Don’t worry if you are bad at it because an instructor is there to guide you.

Next we decided to walk around Oriental Village. Oriental Village is quite huge, with a number of bridges built over the lake to connect the restaurants and shops. Oriental Inn resides here too but I don’t think many people stay here..

Langkawi

Restaurants here serve local, Japanese and Korean cuisines, with emphasis given to the latter two. We also entered some shops to look at what they had for sale. Nothing special actually, just the usual stuff you can find in many other duty free shops in Kuah town.

Langkawi

The buildings here reminds me of Melaka’s post office, maybe because of their similar colours. If you look carefully, there’s an eagle in the sky in this photo. Indeed eagles are seen almost everywhere in Langkawi :) In all, Oriental Village was a nice visit because it’s new, colorful and beautiful. We snapped a lot of photos with the lake as background and they came out very nice. A great place to have a rest and relax for a while after a rather tiring visit to Gunung Mat Cincang.

Langkawi

On our way to Crocodile Farm, we spotted a beach full of people having celebrating family day. The beach was visible when we were on the top of Gunung Mat Cincang and it looked so nice. So we pulled over and decided to snap some photos of the beach.

Langkawi

Bad decision though, the weather was too hot and after taking only 3-5 photos we couldn’t take it anymore lol.
