Recently, I stumbled into a really good prawn mee (mee yoke) in Ampang.
The stall operates in Restoran Chuan Huat and it’s run by a friendly uncle who hails from Jawi, Penang. Although it has been around for more than 25 years, it has virtually zero presence on the Internet.

Pictured above is a small serving but the portion size is actually quite large with a good helping of toppings. The clear and reddish soup is properly sieved for a refined taste and it has a rich and authentic prawn flavor, slightly spicy by default too.
If you find Red Leaf’s prawn mee delicious but a tad sweet, this would be an alternative worth your time. In fact, it’s comparable to some of the best prawn noodles I have had in KL.

Restoran Chuan Huat is located in Taman Muda where it’s surrounded by countless eateries. If you’re driving, I’d recommend parking your car outside the business square because of the nearby market. Otherwise, you’d be spending a fair amount of time stuck in traffic.
