MIFC 2008 Finale – Team Global
Aug 30th
The month long Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008 has finally ended. The winner of the competition went to Spain while Malaysia was the 1st runner up, not bad huh. It was a pity I didn’t get to witness team Spain’s performance last week, as it was highly praised. But getting to witness three out of five possible performances is still quite good for me.
I thought it was going to be Australia’s turn in the [tag]MIFC[/tag] finale last night at [tag]Putrajaya[/tag], but that didn’t happen. Instead, all the teams were combined into Team Global – which Malaysia led the [tag]firework[/tag]s performance. It was an explosive and thrilling display that entertained the largest crowd turnout in the competition!
Luckily there were little clouds and the sky was clear on the finale night. There was almost no wind though, so there are plenty of smoke in the photos. Such a pity.
Spain’s fireworks in the finale was the most creative and outstanding, so nice that it clearly stood out from the rest. They also managed to program the fireworks to really match with the accompanying song’s rhythm!
MIFC 2008 – Team Malaysia
Aug 13th
Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008 – MIFC is currently being held at PICC, Putrajaya. There are 5 teams in this fireworks competition namely Malaysia, China, Spain, Canada and Australia. Being the host for a second consecutive year, team Malaysia was the first to display fireworks last night on 12th August 08.
Unlike the previous year, there won’t be any tickets sold this year. Entrance to [tag]PICC[/tag] to witness the [tag]firework[/tag] display is totally free! Even shuttle buses are provided to transfer spectators from the car park to PICC. Each firework display will last about 20-25 minutes and it was a dazzling performance by team [tag]Malaysia[/tag]!

Citrawarna – Colours of Malaysia 2008 @ Putrajaya
May 25th
Citrawarna – Colours Of Malaysia 2008 was held yesterday 24th May in Dataran Putrajaya. Citrawarna is an annual [tag]event[/tag] showcasing Malaysian arts, traditions and culture via performances, dances and music. The event has always been shown on live telecast but I have never imagined myself catching it live in Putrajaya. Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib and [tag]Tourism[/tag] Minister Datuk Azalina Othman were among the VVIPs present. Mahathir Lokman and Cheryl Samad were the MC for the evening and they were working together great as a team. Armed with a camera and tripod, I hoped to capture some photos of the most colourful event in [tag]Malaysia[/tag].
