Portugese Grilled Seafood @ Oasis Food Court, Mid Valley
Aug 4th
An ordinary looking stall in an ordinary food court in Mid Valley is drawing the crowds. What seemed like an economical place to have lunch and dinner for the mall’s workers is also frequented by the customers. They make a beeline for the not-so-ordinary Portugese Grilled Seafood, which is popular for the tastiness and fair (pretty cheap I dare say) pricing.
Like any other grilled/bbq seafood you can choose to have a type of seafood only, or a combo of your liking eg. Bawal + Lala, Pari + Lala, Pari + Sotong. A set that comes with a serving of white rice is typically RM7.90. More expensive if a better fish is selected. Click here to continue reading >
Kee Kee Bentong Chicken Rice @ Yat Yeh Hing, Kelana Jaya
Jun 4th
One of the famous lunch places in Kelana Jaya area is Kee Kee Bentong Chicken Rice. I travel up and down LDP very often but never noticed its existance until my friends told me about it. I don’t know about you, but I would have never expected a normal looking seafood restaurant like Yat Yeh Hing to house a good Chicken Rice stall.
We reached around 12.15 pm and apparently it was the busiest time – it was almost full house. There’s even a queue to get the soup lol. From the other blogs, it is said a quarter of a chicken’s portion is the minimum order. But since there were four of us, this wouldn’t be a problem. So we ordered a combination of steamed and roast chicken. Click here to continue reading >
Mother’s Day Celebration Promotion @ Italiannies 1 Utama
Jun 1st
Few weeks ago we celebrated Mother’s Day at Italiannies 1 Utama. The Mother’s Day promotion entitled every mother’s main course to a discount, with the percentage set according to her age. This simply means that if the mother’s age is 40, she would receive 40% discount on her main course.
Italiannies’ Caesar Salad @ RM19.90, served with toasted croutons. It didn’t look appealing because of the salad’s pale looking color but luckily it still tasted pretty good, albeit the rather salty dressing.
Lamb Shank @ RM39.90, surprisingly labeled as a NEW! dish in the menu. Hmm… and I thought Italiannies had Lamb Shank all the while. It was top notch with nice, meltingly tender meat bursting with flavor – highly recommended. Click here to continue reading >
Penang Prawn Mee @ O & S Restaurant, Taman Paramount
Nov 14th
After posting Ho Yee Kee‘s prawn mee, I have received numerous recommendations about O & S Restaurant‘s Penang Prawn Mee in Petaling Jaya. Coincidentally, while chatting with my buddies (also from Penang) not too long ago they mentioned about a very good prawn mee in PJ area too. According to them it was so good it exceeds Penang’s standards.
And yeah you guessed it, they were all talking about the same restaurant – O & S. Being unfamiliar with PJ area, I bugged them to bring me there so I could try the noodles for myself.
A normal [tag]prawn mee[/tag] cost RM4 per bowl and you can opt for extra toppings like squid, big whole shelled prawns and pork ribs. Shown here is a bowl with extra pork ribs (3 pieces) at RM7, meaning each pork rib is RM1. The ribs were soft and tasty, I felt they were well worth the extra bucks I paid.
