Continued from Langkawi Trip Part V : Air Hangat Village
Also located along Jalan Air Hangat, [tag]Langkawi[/tag] Bird Paradise is only a 10 minutes drive from Air Hangat Village. Entrance fee is RM10 and bird feeds can be bought at RM2 for 3 packets.

Discover the exciting world of birds and nature at Langkawi’s Birds Paradise. Some 2,500 birds from 150 species are housed here including some of the world’s rarest and most beautiful birds. Admire these beautiful fowls as you stroll through beautiful tropical gardens. Spend some time at the Macaw’s Courtyard, the Flamingo Pond, and admire the clever impersonation of Cockatoos and Mynas.
If you wish, you can also drop by the photo booth and take a few photos of yourself with some of the friendly feathered residents here. Facilities availabe here includes a cafeteria and souvenir shop.
We were greeted by colorful and noisy parrots upon entering. The parrots don’t imitate our speech but make a lot of loud noises. Really loud. One of the park’s employee demonstrated to us on how to feed them. It was scary at first, because worried that they would peck our hands.

Continued from Langkawi Trip Part IV : Langkawi Crocodile Farm
Our next stop from [tag]Langkawi[/tag] Crocodile Farm was Air Hangat Village, formerly known as [tag]Telaga Air Hangat[/tag]. I am not sure what transformation occured, maybe from a simple well to a village? I vaguely remember when I last visited this place 10+ years ago, it wasn’t like this.

Air means water and hangat means hot in Malay. Hence Air Hangat literally means Hot Springs. The name is associated with an ancient legend of two feuding families who threw jugs, pots and pans at each other. One of the jugs, filled with boiling water, fell on the ground and immediately a hot spring gushed out of the spot where the village now stands.
Located about 14km northwest of Kuah in Langkawi, [tag]Air Hangat Village[/tag] is a modern complex which has an impressive three-tier fountain and an 18m-high carved riverstone mural, which depicts the well-known legend of the earth-shattering battle between Mat Cincang and Mat Raya.
Formerly known as Telaga Air Hangat (Hot Springs Well), it is now a combination spa and cultural experience park. The village presents shows such as Malaysian and Southeast Asian dances, cultural shows and activities like batik painting, elephant performances and kickboxing. It also offers duty-free shopping, as well as fine Malaysian, Thai and Indonesian cuisine served in its on-site theatre restaurant.

Continued from Langkawi Trip Part III : Oriental Village
About 10-15 minutes drive away from Oriental Village we reached the Crocodile Farm, located on a small hill. We were greeted by this big Welcome signboard, with a big crocodile replica on top. The 20-acre [tag]Langkawi Crocodile Farm[/tag] is the largest crocodile farm in Malaysia and houses more than 1000 crocodiles, with most of it the “Crocodylus Porosus” species. Entrance fee is RM10 per adult and an extra RM1 for each camera brought in. The place looks deserted, not many tourists were visiting at that time.
We were lucky because as soon as we arrived, a crocodile show was just about to begin. FYI, there are two crocodile show sessions in a day at 11.15am and 2.45pm. The crocodile show took place in an area close to the size of a basketball court with two small pools. There were 3 crocodiles in the water with their sizes from small to freaking huge!

When we were on our way down from Gunung Mat Cincang, we saw a small area where children were feeding rabbits and deer. It was a mini feeding zoo of sort within Oriental Village. Entrance is free and we bought a packet of rabbit food for RM1.
The rabbits are really fluffy and I particularly liked the grey one, I found it to be the cutest. When not eating, the rabbits would either lie around on their tummy or dig up some holes lol.
The deer was lazing comfortably under a tree, but came after me when saw my packet of food
The deer’s saliva was all over my palm after that lol. There’s a basin and a soap for visitors to wash their hands after feeding the animals, how thoughtful! Besides feeding the animals, you can also shoot some aarows in the small archery range here at RM5 for 10 shots. Don’t worry if you are bad at it because an instructor is there to guide you.
