It’s easy to pass off Alor Corner Curry Noodle as another food stall that caters to tourists. All the more so when it’s situated right at the entrance to the world famous Jalan Alor.
But if you put away your skepticism and gave it a try, you will be rewarded with one of the most authentic and tastiest curry mee in KL. In fact, I would describe this as the definitive version of KL curry mee.
For those who are not in the mood for curry, other options include asam laksa, prawn mee and fish ball soup.
Alor Corner’s curry mee has all the expected ingredients like cockles, chicken meat slices, long beans and (XL sized) tofu puffs. They absolutely nailed the curry soup’s consistency and flavor which helped set the noodle above the rest. It’s rich but not overly thick and full of aroma derived from coconut milk and curry spices. Simply delicious.
Looks good, right?
Asam laksa is probably the second most popular noodle here. I would say it was decent and they were quite generous with the toppings. The broth was a tad sweet for my liking but it was easily fixed by adding cili padi to even out the overall taste.
