Anuar’s Fish Head Curry (also known Bangsar Fish Head Corner) is a food stall at Lucky Garden that commands a large customer base thanks to two of their signature dishes: fish head curry and mamak-style fried chicken.

Affordability is one of the reasons they are so popular. For RM3 you get to enjoy a serving of fried chicken (or fried fish) rice with tangy fish curry gravy, okra and as much bean sprouts as you want. It’s hard to believe that you can have a filling lunch in Bangsar at this price, but it does exist.
Teh o ais is served automatically and you will be charged RM4 in total. If you are here only for the RM3 rice, you can opt to reject the drink. But I wouldn’t recommend that because the place can get really hot.

In fact I have blogged about it 3 years ago and the price remained unchanged until today. That time, we had the fish head curry as well and I was put off by the hefty price tag. This time, we stuck to only their basics and it proved to be a more satisfying experience. The fried chicken is undoubtedly delicious, so good that I returned to the stall to grab another piece.

They are extremely busy especially during lunch hours and a long queue is a normal sight. Luckily the service is quick so the line moves fairly quick. The aroma of seasoning and spices immediately hits you before you even reach the stall. Batches and batches of chicken are fried non-stop to cater to the crowd.

For those looking for a more satisfying meal, fried squid (with rice) is priced at RM7 while fish head curry is between RM30 to RM80 depending on the size.

Friendly reminder: park your car properly in this area or you will risk getting it clamped and getting a summon from DBKL. The officers are here all the time and are very efficient at clamping cars that park indiscriminately.
