Apparently, wantan mee is not the only reason to eat at Tzuk Sheng Lao. A friend tipped that their claypot lamb is also worth a special trip. We happened to be nearby last weekend so we decided to drop by for dinner.
This is Tzuk Sheng Lao’s much talked about dish – Claypot New Zealand Lamb with Dry Beancurd @ RM18. The moment it arrived, we knew it was going to be delicious from the aroma alone. I also like the fact that they give quality cuts like ribs, meaty ones too.
The meat was so tender that you don’t even need a knife. You can bite them off the bone effortlessly and that’s really a wonderful primal experience. Another way to enjoy this is by sharing it with a partner or two. The rich and savory gravy is perfect for serving over plain noodles.
And as expected, the wantan mee we had did not disappoint. What’s even more impressive is that if you peek into the kitchen, you will see that it’s run by mostly foreign staff. They are really well-trained and seem to take a genuine interest in what they do.
I was so happy with the food that I ordered another bowl of ‘Sai Yong’ @ RM6.30 before leaving. For this kind of low price, I dare say this is the best HK-style wantan mee you can get in PJ.
