Crab Factory Annual Seafood Carnival

In conjunction with Brolly‘s grand opening celebration over the last weekend, Crab Factory also held its annual seafood carnival on the same day to make the event merrier. Close to 300 guests gathered and seated elbow-to-elbow around a long table that stretched as far as the eye can see, making it the longest seafood table KL has ever witnessed.

Each ticket was priced at RM200 per adult (RM100 for children under 12) and you are allowed 90 minutes to eat all the seafood you can. Only 1 soft drink is included in the price, so any extra drinks ordered had be redeemed with coupons sold separately on the day of the event.

The weather was perfect too – bright and sunny day but perhaps a little too hot for an outdoor event like this. Which was why a short drizzle of light rain that happened was welcomed by us. Otherwise, it was going to be sweat-inducing meal.

Then it was time to bring out the buckets load of seafood, all poured on the table in front of you. No tableware or cutlery was provided, you eat with your bare hands for a raw Cajun experience. Two of Crab Factory’s most popular sauces are served too – one spicy and the other non-spicy.

The types of seafood served included yabby, prawn, mud crab, spanner crab and slipper lobster. Other ingredients present were corn, potatoes and button mushrooms. Everything tasted fresh except for the spanner crab, which was understandbly a tad mushy because they were frozen.

With everything considered, it was a successful event and the customers’ happy faces say it all.

While the adults were busy tucking in to get their money’s worth, kids were entertained by clowns and had fun at the bouncy castle.

If you missed the event, don’t worry because this is an annual thing. So keep your eyes and ears open for the next year’s carnival happening around the same time.
