This is just an update post to let you guys know that John’s Penang Prawn Noodle has relocated to Meng Yang Restaurant Two in Kota Damansara.
That happened about 2 years ago shortly after I blogged about his prawn noodle back in 2016. The reason he told me was, the previous coffee shop simply did not have enough walk in customers.
Now, his stall only serves prawn noodle and loh noodle. His wife, who used to prepare the Madras Lane style curry mee, is now selling the same prawn noodle at Kong Yam Kong Sek food court at Centrepoint. So if you are nearer to Bandar Utama, then you don’t need to travel all the way to Kota Damansara for it.
Taste wise, I am glad to say that it tasted as good as I remembered. In fact, the quality of the fried shallot seemed improved, giving the already robust soup an extra depth of sweetness and aroma.
And although the price has been slightly increased to RM7 a bowl, you are getting what you pay for. You get a couple of full sized prawns, generous amount of noodle, half an egg and sufficient slices of fish cakes and pork.
