After a rather disappointing meal at Bai Wei Cuisine, I went on a search for a restaurant that serves better Mee Pok. Luckily I did not need to look far because Lim Kitchen‘s at Bandar Menjalara does exactly that. Better still, it’s only 10 minutes away from my house.
This is how a proper Mee Pok (RM8.50) should look like. It should be dry, the noodle should be springy and there should be a balanced amount of minced meat and lard to go around.
But what really makes the noodle is the chili sauce which adds an appetizing kick to the overall experience. Without the chili sauce, the mee pok wouldn’t be complete.
Lim’s Kitchen also serves Hakka Mee (RM8.50) but it’s more similar to Ipoh version instead of Seremban’s. It’s simple yet enjoyable. Like the Mee Pok, this is also served with a nice bowl fish ball soup.
Mini dumplings (RM7.50) here are good too, plump with a crunchy bottom just like how it should be. Compare this with the pathetic looking ones we got at Bai Wei Cuisine and you will know the difference immediately.
Hainan Tea (RM4.50) here is decisively a class better too. It’s extremely foamy and the tea flavor was smooth and refined. For an ever sweeter taste, opt for the hot version.
Lim Kitchen’s noodles are free from boric acid and preservatives. If you enjoy the noodle and want a fuller meal, you can actually top it up for free.
Needless to say we enjoyed our lunch here and will be looking forward to try their dozens of other noodle and rice dishes in our next visit.
My only gripe about this place is that they are not open for dinner, because that’s usually the time when we run out of idea on what to eat.
