Located in Krystal Point, Mumbai House is a restaurant that serves Northern Southern Indian & British Indian Cuisine. We heard it serves excellent curry so we decided to give it a try last Friday.
Menu items are categorized into Tandoori, Fish, Vegetable, Nan, Indian Rice.. etc. For someone who rarely patronize Indian restaurants like me, ordering the food is quite difficult. Luckily the waiters were friendly and helpful, so we followed most of dishes ordered were their recommendations. There were some flies around.. according to the waiters it was due to the rain. So they lit this to help chase the flies away.
We started our meal with Indian crackers with some sauce. Not sure what the sauce is made of.. but it was good lol.
My drink – Masala Tea @ RM4.50. Googling “Masala” did not give much information, seems like it is a general term for “a mix of different spices”. Masala Tea tasted like normal teh tarik (they did tarik it first) and ginger. I didn’t really like the taste.. but it was a new experience.
Our appetizer was Tanggeri Chicken @RM12.90 from the Tandoori menu. It has a piece of grilled chicken thigh, some onions and carrots with a small piece of cut lime.
Then came our vegetable, Navarathan Kurma @ RM9.00. This dish has 9 different vegetables cooked in cashewnut gravy. Neat stuff.
Fish Masala @ RM13.90. This gravy is very dry and goes well with the nan.
Makhen Nan @ RM3.50 is actually butter nan. Very crispy and the butter makes the nan bread golden shiny.
