When Naughty Nuri’s opened their first outlet outside Bali at Desa Sri Hartamas, we were so excited that we checked it out immediately. While the food was generally delicious, we left disappointed due to the the small serving size.

Naughty Nuri's Atria

2 years later, the same group of us were invited to experience the improved Naughty Nuri’s. We gladly accepted the offer because why not? To cut to the chase, it was a great leap of improvement over our previous visit and our impression of the restaurant has certainly improved.

Naughty Nuri's BBQ Spare Ribs

We still like Naughty Nuri’s Signature BBQ Spare Ribs. Although there had been an increase of price (from RM39 to RM48) you are compensated with a bigger portion of ribs weighing around 800gm.
Besides, it is now prepared with imported ribs from Spain which gives it a better consistency in terms of quality. The meat was fork tender, slightly sweet but balanced off by the spicy dark soy sauce. It was delicious and without a doubt one of the best ribs in town.

Naughty Nuri's Beef Short Ribs

If there’s anything that’s better than their BBQ spare ribs it has to be the Notorious Beef Short Ribs (RM42). It features a beautiful cut of short ribs braised to a tender and smothered in their special rendang sauce. Served with onion rice, sambal and even more rendang sauce, the combination was just brilliant.

Naughty Nuri's Ayam Bertutu

For those who don’t take beef, the Balinese Ayam Bertutu @ RM35 is your next best option. It is also appealing to those who like spicy food because it comes with two types of sambal: hijau and dadakan that add a whole lot of kick. The chicken was marinated in a flavorful blend of Balinese spices that gives it a special zing.

Naughty Nuri's Crispy Belly
Naughty Nuri's BBQ Satay Lilit
Naughty Nuri's Balinese Crispy Cumi Cumi

For sharing, we were recommended to have the Naughty Crispy Belly @ RM20, BBQ Satay Lilit @ RM26 and Balinese Crispy Cumi-Cumi @ RM23.
The crispy belly was interesting, as it had a peanut like texture and the sauce tasted like a sweetened version of ‘kung pao’ sauce. It’s hard to go wrong with Satay Lilit (my favorite) and Naughty Nuri’s pretty much nailed it. As for the fried baby squid, I would recommend it only for people who enjoy really crispy food.

Naughty Nuri's Balinese Nasi Goreng
Naughty Nuri's Indonesian Mee Goreng
Naughty Nuri's Roast Pork

We have always liked the Indonesian Style Mee Goreng (RM23) here and I am glad to say that the quality still remains high. Despite a slight increase in, price you get a good serving of roast pork at the side so I guess that evens out everything.

Naughty Nuri's Bacon Banana Dessert

There are only two desserts on the menu so they could definitely add a few more items to expand the variety. We had the Ubud Style Sugar Refinery Bacon Banana @ RM18 which had a great presentation, but it was a hit or miss among us. Not everyone loved it but I thought the sweet and salty contrast worked well. The bacon could be a bit crispier though.

If you have been sitting on the fence with Naughty Nuri’s, take advantage of their weekday 50% off lunch promo where you can try most of their signature items at half price.
You should also check out their “Snout to Tail Buffet” @ RM49.90 happening every Sunday (except Hartamas branch) that lets you indulge in their top notch selections. With everything considered it’s one of the best value buffets in town because a serving of their spare ribs already comes up to almost the same price.
