More than 20 local and foreign chefs from top restaurants in the country worked hard to create mouth-watering recipes for Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur‘s (GKL) ‘Pleasure’ – a healthy fine dining cookbook.
With 80 recipes covering both local and international cuisine including Malay, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western dishes, ‘Pleasure’ offers the incentive to families to cook healthy yet flavoursome fine dining meals in the comfort of their own homes.
GKL’s Chief Dietician Lim Ai Leng, who carefully vetted each of the recipes’ ingredients and calories – ensured the dishes actually qualify to be labelled as healthy food. Besides recipes, ‘Pleasure’ also contains an informative healty eating guide.
Each participating restaurant was asked to contribute four recipes with each covering the different food groups that were categorized into salads and vegetables, noodles and grains, seafood and meat and dessert. Four recipes from the cookbook will even be selected to be added to GKL’s own fine dining menu for its patients.
On September 25, ‘Pleasure’ was officially launched and shared with the public by GKL at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Regional Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospitals and Chief Executive Officer Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur Amir Firdaus Abdullah said the hospital was truly excited about the healthy recipe book because food-related activities have always been Malaysia’s favorite pastime and there should be a balance to please both the senses and bodily systems.
Priced at RM129, the healthy fine dining recipe book is available at the hospital and all major bookstores in the country. For more information about ‘Pleasure’, please log on to GKL’s website.
