Roast duck is something typically available in the day time. So it was surprising for me to stumble upon a roast duck stall called Kin Herbal Roasted Duck that opens exclusively for dinner. Fortunately, it’s also an excellent one. In fact, I find it a lot better than most roast duck stalls in Kepong.
The first time we were here, I had the Hakka Mee with roast duck which swept my feet off. The noodle not only looked appetizing but comes with all the qualities that make it wonderful – springy well-cooked noodle, tossed in an awesome mix of sauces aromatic infused with fried shallot oil’s aroma.

Everything that goes on the plate is so well thought. Even the garnish of sliced cucumbers are completely peeled and treated to taste not bitter at all.
What I like the most about Kin’s roast duck is the perfect balance of flavor. It’s not overly salty and the juice that was drained from the cavity was simply lovely. Not to mention the meat is tender, succulent and fresh too. I really hate it when the duck tastes off and mushy.
Sometimes we would just takeaway half a duck (RM28) to enjoy in front of the tv. They are quite generous with the herbal and chili sauce (great stuff) too. And no matter which sauce you choose to dip the duck into, it’s still hella delicous.

Kin Herbal Roasted Duck is operating at ‘Gou Lou’ mamak stall opposite Kepong’s durian street. This makeshift hawker centre is also known as H.L Yee cafe to some. Other recommended foods here include yong tau fu, fruit rojak and prawn mee.
