This morning I received a message from Nicole who told me she discovered a good prawn mee in Taman Ehsan. Since it’s been a while I haven’t had prawn mee, I went looking for it immediately.

We reached the place around 2pm which is considered late for lunch, but luckily the stall was still open. Although there are a couple of other stalls in the coffee shop, most of the customers were seen having prawn mee.
FYI, the portion size you see picture above is actually the normal order and it comes with 2 big shell-on prawns as well. A bowl is priced at RM6 and additional prawns cost RM1 each.
Every bowl also comes with a good helping of pork slices, fish cakes and smaller but full sized pan-fried prawns. Looking at the huge serving of noodle and generous amount of toppings, I believe you would agree that the price is more than justified.
Taste wise, it won’t necessarily blow you away but it’s certainly a lot better than the average coffee shop offerings. The soup is the clear type, loaded with blended chili which gives it a spicy kick on its own. That being said, the chili paste is still essential (savory more than spicy) because it adds depth to the overall flavor.
The prawn mee stall is operated by a mother and son team. They are nice accommodating people who would go the extra mile to please. So do drop by to support them if you happen to be in the area.
