Engka Portobello Restaurant & Bar – Breakfast & Brunch @ Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL
Sep 3rd
It was a fine Sunday morning, nearing lunch time and we haven’t had anything to eat yet. We were sure to do some shopping at Pavilion and I remembered a nice cozy looking restaurant with many Westeners having their meals there.
So we headed to Engka Portobello and was pleasantly surprised that their brunch and breakfast sets were actually quite affordable. The sets are priced from RM11 onwards, some with coffee included.
Illy Coffee is served here. My cup of Cappuccino looked like it just experienced a small eruption lol.
This was the cheapest breakfast set offered in Engka Portobello, a Straight Up Set @ RM11 that consisted of bacon (mmm.. bacon), egg, chipolata’s (a type of French grilled sausage), baked beans, toasted bread and it was accompanied with a coffee.
Hidden from view on the other side of the plate was a butter, just for the sake of showing. I think that RM11 for a set like this with coffee included is quite cheap considering it’s Bukit Bintang area. Click here to continue reading >
The Pink Sage Diner And Pantry @ Jalan Dang Wangi, KL
Jul 12th
** The Pink Sage has moved to a new outlet at Solaris Dutamas. Details here **
I remembered blog hopping one day and stumbled upon epicuriousgirl’s dining experience in a diner and pantry called The Pink Sage at Dang Wangi. The images of the hearty breakfast stuck in my head ever since, because it looked just too good.
And much to my delight Shaun Chan, one of the three partners of The Pink Sage Diner and Pantry invited me to sample their latest dinner menu two weeks ago.
Although I was supposed to have a go at their dinner menu, it was only noon when I reached The Pink Sage. So, all-day breakfast seemed like a good choice considering I haven’t had mine yet that day. Click here to continue reading >
Western Breakfast Set @ PD Eating Point, Port Dickson
Feb 19th
On my last Port Dickson trip, I searched everywhere to get info for the best place to have breakfast in Port Dickson because the hotel package we took did not include breakfast. The conclusion of my research was that everyone who visited Port Dickson before highly recommended PD Eating Point for their popular Western breakfast set.
Not wanting to take risk, we followed their advice and had the same breakfast at PD Eating Point just like they did.
This is the famous Western breakfast set at PD Eating Point, consisting of double sausages, double eggs, double toasts and some baked beans. You can choose between scrambled egg and fried egg, whichever you prefer more.
For the first day we had the fried egg set, and it was a nice breakfast. The portion was quite big as well, which is a good thing to help us stay full longer. By the way, this photo was taken using my 50mm lens, which came out nice and sharp.. Now compare it to the next photo taken with kit lens..
Toasted Bread Half Boiled Eggs @ Joo Leong Cafe
Feb 3rd
Along the road to the airport from [tag]Bayan Lepas[/tag], there’s a [tag]coffee shop[/tag] which is always crowded in the mornings. People throng the place as early as 7am for [tag]Joo Leong[/tag] Cafe’s toasted bread and half boiled eggs. The coffee shop is a bit hard to notice because there’s no signboard or any indications it is selling such breakfast. The many number of vehicles parked outside the coffee shop which stretch as far as 50 meter away show the popularity of this establishment.
