When I am only alone, I tend to eat fast food
Friend A was busy working late
Friend B was playing badminton
Friend C had already eaten
So, it was me all alone again
My choice was either [tag]KFC[/tag] or McDonalds
Between KFC Zinger Tower and Prosperity Burger
I don’t like the overwhelming black pepper sauce of Prosperity Burger
So, I had a Zinger Tower from the X-meal
Didn’t really care about the negative reviews I saw on forums
Because I was curious
What is Zinger Tower?
It’s a Zinger burger, with extra things and some modifications
Mayonaise was substituted zesty lime chili sauce
Some people said it tasted like dish wash
But I thought it was OK
A hash brown was added under the [tag]Zinger[/tag] fillet
It was pretty soggy and bland
But it did make me feel fuller
Oh yeah, I don’t like Pepsi Max
So I requested normal Pepsi
X-meal cost RM10.50, ok lah
Zinger Tower ala carte cost RM6.60, omg
My overall verdict?
GIVE ME BACK MY ORIGINAL ALREADY AWESOME ZINGER
I have a feeling KFC introduced this to fight with McD’s Prosperity
I think it won’t be effective
Instead, it would only drive the Zinger lovers away
Cham loh, it will be on the menu for quite long
How ar? Sien
Sigh, I am quite disappointed now and I need to rant. You see, I was at Pavilion earlier tonight and was contemplating my choices for dinner – it could have been the newly opened Emperor Q by MOF, Pepper Lunch (steak restaurant), Ichiban Boshi or even Mr. Baoz!
But, of all the restaurants I chose to eat at Carl’s Jr instead. Because, I have a thing for [tag]burger[/tag]s and I thought eating at a fast food restaurant alone would be less awkward. Arrggh, it was a mistake!
Actually, I have already tried CJ at Sunway Pyramid once and their Super Star with Cheese (double charbroiled beef and cheese) impressed me. Since then, I have always wanted to try the other stuff especially the chicken sandwiches.
But then, I must be unlucky because apparently CJ ran out of BACONS. This means the sandwich I wanted to order, Bacon Swiss Crispy [tag]Chicken[/tag] [tag]Sandwich[/tag] would be bacon-less, lol. So, even though I was told that they would give me extra cheese in exchange for the missing bacon, I didn’t take it. At last, I chose the Charbroiled Chicken BBQ Sandwich – small combo meal for about RM20.
The sandwich’s small serving really surprised me.. But hey, I thought to myself, maybe it would still taste good despite the pitiful size. After the first bite, the hope was lost lol. Sandwiched between the weird looking bun (which they call it a Honey Wheat Bun) are charbroiled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato and BBQ sauce.. A pretty tasteless combination and not to mention the meat was quite tough too.
Personally, I felt it was one of the weakest sandwich I ever had.. even McD’s McChicken and KFC’s Zinger Burger tasted a lot better than this. Hmm. By the way, this failed sandwich looked so appetizing and nicer on the menu, but the real thing looked nothing similar. See it for yourself.
The consolation would be the fries (Heinz chili sauce!) and bottomless soft drinks. I think CJ’s natural cut fries are the nicest among all fast food joints. They are crispier, thicker and go very well with the special sauce (salsa?) available at the refill station.
Anyway, what I really want to say is.. I should have taken my dinner elsewhere. And if I were you going to [tag]Carl’s Jr[/tag], the Charbroiled BBQ Chicken would be the last thing I would order. That damn sandwich is just not worth the fourteen bucks, lol.
Oh yeah Double McChicken is back! In conjunction with Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa bound to screen on the 13 Nov 2008, McDonalds has come up with a whole new menu with the “Move it” slogan. Having only myself for lunch, I drove to the nearest McD at Equine Park to try it.
A new limited time only set meal is called the “Move It” Meal, consisting of a Double McChicken, Move It Shaker Fries (large) and Green McFizz. The Double McChicken and Fries cost RM10.40 while the Green McFizz is priced at RM3.80, totalling RM14.20 for the meal. The Green McFizz contains real crushed pineapple. So, there’s something to chew on while drinking.
I can’t remember the last time I had Double McChicken, but it was sure a long time ago. There’s nothing much to say about the burger since it’s only an additional chicken patty. But mine sure had lots of lettuce lol, so much it was overflowing. If ordered via ala carte, the Double McChicken costs RM8.80. Yeah I know it’s pricey, which is why I will probably just eat it just once.
Lastly, a compulsory comparison between the Double McChicken as advertised and the real thing. Fast food restaurants are known to show nice and tempting photos of their food but when the real thing arrives, they look miserable. Well, I am glad to say the McD at Equine Park is still doing a good job on maintaining the quality. It is one of the very few McDs I would actually go nowadays.
If you hang out here often, you might catch me here on one afternoon
