Dragon-I Restaurant @ Queensbay
Mar 17th
I’ve been longing to try Dragon-I but have been put off by the expensive price of the food. It was not until I received my second Advertlets payout then only I decided to dine in [tag]Queensbay[/tag]‘s [tag]Dragon-I[/tag]. Seriously, Dragon-I has a very good marketing strategy. They put up a glass before the entrance at all restaurants where you can see the chefs prepare noodles and meat dumplings. It always draws passer-bys and I am always one of them. So, kinda happy that I get to fulfill my curiosity finally. And the meal can be considered free because of the extra money, lol.
TGI Fridays 3 Course Meal for RM39.90
Nov 19th
Let’s see, TGI Fridays has been open in Queensbay for like almost a year and I have yet to dine there. It’s kind of conflicting myself because I have been wanting to dine there since it opened last year. I had to wait until TGI Fridays rolled out the promotion of 3 course meal for RM39.90. Yeah I know I am stingy. The photos I took are lousy due to the dark environment.. paiseh. I am still a noob in taking photos in the dark
Your could see huge banners everywhere in Queensbay promoting this set meal. I tell you, it’s really really worth it. And best of all, it’s enough to serve for two. If you feel the drinks are a bit too expensive, you can opt for plain water and it’s free of charge. I did that.
Jom Heboh 07 Queensbay
Jul 9th
So [tag]Jom Heboh[/tag] 07 was held in [tag]Queensbay[/tag] during the last weekend. Unless you’ve been living under a rock in Malaysia, you’d know what Jom Heboh is lol. Anyway it’s a carnival organized by [tag]TV3[/tag] with Maxis [tag]Hotlink[/tag] being the main sponsor. Most people will feel that this carnival is only for the Malays but there is still something for the other races as well
Well Siang Leng and I weren’t there entirely for the [tag]carnival[/tag] you see. We wanted to buy movie tickets to Transformers on the Friday night but there weren’t any seats left. So we figured that Saturday morning wouldn’t be a bad idea. After that we can go check out what’s the fuss’ all about with Jom Heboh. We never been to any Jom Heboh before so we could only wonder. Speaking of Transformers, it is a super-duper good movie! The scene where Optimus Prime first appeared felt amazing. All the childhood memories of the cartoon suddenly just kept coming back. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, I am wondering what you are still waiting for lol.
You’ve probably read about the recent haze in northern Malaysia affecting Kedah, Perak and Penang. The heavy rain on the night before the carnival is godsend. It not only clears the haze, it also sets a cooler afternoon for visitors to the carnival. See the bright clear skies? I alsmot forget how clear skies look like… It was really relieving after enduring the horrible haze for a week. I get dizzy even just for going to lunch.
As usual, Indocafe is always there to serve nice and ice cold coffee. And it’s free too! Just take how many cups you want lol, no need paiseh.
There were a couple of TV3′s official souvenir tents where you can purchase goods like T-shirts and caps. They are quite expensive though, RM30 for a collared T.
An activity kids will definitely enjoy must be the mini motokart racing, 4 laps cost RM10. It didn’t generate too much interest from the public though.
Hot FM was there too. And apparently they brought their own car lol. It looks nice, don’t you think?
This is the main stage of the carnival. Big isn’t it? It will be used for the concert on the next day.
With thousands of people thronging Queensbay for the carnival, there must be good control and security. So, many of our beloved and respected PDRM were deployed to safeguard the event. And you couldn’t blame them for taking shelter under the tree, the afternoon sun is vicious
Anyway really salute them for being there since morning to control traffic and stuff.
Paddington House of Pancakes
Feb 15th
[tag]Paddington House of Pancakes[/tag] is the first of its kind in [tag]Penang[/tag] ([tag]Queensbay Mall[/tag]) I suppose not much introduction is needed especially to those residing in KL as this restaurant has been blogged by quite a number of people. By Suanie, Fooxion, little miss may, makansakan and malaysiabest. But I bet most of you didn’t know Paddington House of Pancakes is actually a local franchise!
There are as many as 100 types of [tag]pancakes[/tag] to order from and the menu itself is thicker than some books lol. We couldn’t make up our minds so we consulted the waiter for recommendations. One of his recommendation was this.. as seen above. A boneless chicken thigh topped with turkey ham, mushroom, cheese and Italian red sauce. I forgot what this dish is called but it had something to do with Tokyo
Served along with 2 rolled pancakes stuffed with vegetables.
The hot chocolate with marshmallow is good stuff. I have always seen the Americans drink hot cocoa with marshmallow and wondered how it tastes like. Now I know~
Cappuccino is just normal stuff. I think I won’t return anytime soon, as it costed us more than RM30 for a meal like this which is very expensive IMO. The drinks cost a bomb and one thing I couldn’t understand is why they do not serve plain water.. Anyway if you have a Jusco card, good news for you because they will give 10% discount, so the service tax will be waived.
