My Honeymoon Dessert House @ Sunway Pyramid
Sep 17th
Last Friday I went for an invited meal at My Honeymoon Desserts House @ Sunway Pyramid, a restaurant owned by a husband and wife team who share the same passion for the best desserts. The whole idea of coming up with their own dessert restaurant first started when they were celebrating their honeymoon in Hong Kong and stumbled on Chung Kee Desserts, which is well known for its creative Chinese desserts. This is also how My Honeymoon’s tag-line “Our Desserts, You Honeymoon” was born.
Hundreds of dessert ranging from traditional sweet soup, sweet ball, summer special, icy swallow, crystal grass jelly, sago, special granulated ice and many more are available in My Honeymoon’s menu. And like always we like to start with something light on the stomach like the pillow-shaped Mango Pancake @ RM9.
My cutting skill sucked, plus the plastic knife wasn’t exactly sharp so please pardon the mess lol. My Honeymoon insists on a 50-50 ratio of whipped cream and mango for the pancakes so customers need not worry about being shortchanged. The succulent mango was sweet, largely due to the fact that only Philippines mango, the sweetest mango in the world is used. Click here to continue reading >
Canton-i @ Sunway Pyramid, Truly Hong Kong?
Jul 8th
Let me start by saying the only reason I visited Canton-i was to avoid feeling left out. I have been hesitant to try Canton-i because I realize they are under the same management with Dragon-i. For me, this spells discouragement because my experience with Dragon-i in the past was pretty bad. I wasn’t completely hopeless anyway seeing that Canton-i had a different menu, it could be a different breed compared to Dragon-i.
That wet towel, is RM1 each.
港式奶茶 (Hong Kong Tea & Milk), RM5.50.
Canton-i’s Signature Egg Tarts were highly acclaimed by some who tried it before so I ordered it too. Too bad it was not good for me, the pastry was not crispy at all and they felt like they had been on the shelf for too long. The only good thing about the egg tarts was the relatively cheap price compared to the rest of the menu, RM5 for three. Click here to continue reading >
Sushi Zanmai @ Sunway Pyramid
Nov 27th
While I was back working in Penang, there seemed to be a surge in Japanese restaurants in KL and [tag]Selangor[/tag], among the many is Sushi Zanmai. Before this, I have already read lots of good comments about them being the preferred sushi joint. Last weekend, I finally paid [tag]Sushi[/tag] Zanmai @ Sunway Pyramid a long-awaited visit. Since it has been open for nearly two years, I bet many of you have tried the food before.
We only took sushi from the conveyor belt and a few other items for the entire meal, didn’t order any set meal or noodles they have. Perhaps next time. This is a nice one with salmon slices sandwiched between the with sweet and spicy mayonnaise.
Snowy Dessert Home @ Sunway Pyramid
Oct 5th
One day when we were shopping at Sunway Pyramid, we felt a little hungry and wanted to eat something to fill our stomachs. While walking around to hunt for food, we saw some pretty girls dressed in cute costumes handing out flyers of Hong Kong snacks.
You know, stuff like curry fish ball, little bowl fins 碗仔翅 and desserts. The food seemed interesting (and cheap) enough so we decided to give Snowy Dessert Home a try. Besides, the portions didn’t look big which was perfect for a quick bite. Trust me it wasn’t because of the cute girls we dined here. Well, maybe a little LOL.
What really caught my attention among all was this Italian Herbs Spaghetti @ RM8.90. It was one of the two available spaghettis to choose from, with the other one being Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce. Because the dish looked really great on the menu, we couldn’t resist ordering it. And the chef did a good job preparing it.
